L’Oreal is Planning to 3D Print Human Skin

Yep you read right!

The beauty giant is partnering with bioprinting start-up Organovo to figure out a way to 3D print real human skin that can be used to test products in order to avoid animal
testing. Research for the endeavor will take place in L’Oreal’s new California research center as well as Organovo’s San Diego-based lab, and L’Oreal hopes to “speed up and automate skin production within the
next five years.” [theFashionSpot ]
