More heartbreaking news for Fashion Police fans. After just seven episodes, Kathy Griffin who replaced Kathy Griffin is leaving E!’s “Fashion Police ,” Griffin made the announcement via a lengthy Twitter statement on Thursday.
“When I chose to step into the shoes of my beloved friend Joan Rivers at ‘Fashion Police,’ I was thrilled to continue her legacy as a woman being brash and eccentric on television,” Griffin tweeted.
“After seven episodes of ‘Fashion Police,’ I
discovered that my style does not fit with the
creative direction of the show and now it’s time to.move on.”
E! has confirmed Griffin’s departure stating, “We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all.”
Griffin’s quits just weeks after co-host Kelly Osbourne stepped down from the show following a controversy surrounding the series’ Feb. 23 Academy Awards episode, in
which panelist Giuliana Rancic made remarks about Disney star Zendaya , commenting that her dreadlocks at the Oscars probably “smells like patchouli oil” or “weed.”
Am not happy about this. When Joan died I said Fashion Police will never be the same again, it's now come to pass. Am so sad over this.
