Weekend Ankara Styles

Sometime last month at work, Ms S, Ms P and I were idle and decided to go through some old fashion Magazines. (Ms P's drawer is always full of such magazines). So as we scanned through Ankara styles, Ms S pointed at this Ankara cropped top paired with trousers and said
"Wow, I love this"
"Sorry babes, you can never ever "forever" wear something like that" I blurted out and Ms P laughed
 "As if I dont know" Ms S said and hissed, flipping to the next page.
"Ah aa why you dey hiss? I casually said. "Na with this big belle wei you carry you wan wear crop top, with the way you have blown up sef, getting back into shape after delivery is almost impossible"
"Thanks for reminding me" Ms S casually said and flipped to the next page
"Ms S don't mind her jare, she wei get shape make she wear am make we see now" Ms P said and I smiled
"Oh, You think I can't pull this off, make Una no dare me o"
"I dare you. Infact wear a crop top to work and I swear I go be your messenger for office with dis belle for one week!" said Ms S
"See this pregnant woman o" I said pointing a hand at her "No dare me o"
Ms S laughed. "I know you can't, go and sit down, its very easy to insult me cos am pregnant, you Wei no carry belle wear am make we see"
"Well, Na you sabi" I said and resolved in my mind to surprise them. I got my tailor to sew me a high waisted ankara flay skirt with a simple crop top that revealed some skin around my stomach area and for the past two weeks I have been looking for the right time to wear it, of course I can't wear it when our Madam at the top is around... So Yesterday, which was friday,(I had inquired the previous day and was 100%  sure madam wasn't going to be in the office. She had a very important meeting to attend so her chances of showing up at work on Friday was very slim), i rocked my crop Ankara attire to work. God, the look on their faces was epic.
"Ms S is in trouble o, wow you look gorgeous" Ms P complimented. You really need to introduce me to you tailor, he sews well"
Whenever you are ready was my reply.
Walking over to Ms S' table, I started clicking my fingers and turning round and round so she could see me well o. She was just smiling sheepishly, Lol. Placing my two hands on her table I commanded her to go bring me some files from the cabinet, after all she promised to be my messenger Abi?
You wish, was her reply and I laughed.
"Just thank God for this your belle sha" I told her. After a while when we had all settled down, the unexpected happened. My madam showed up for work. Obviously, the meeting she was to attend was canceled hence her reason for coming to work. Hot piss catch me, chai see ranting, i almost fainted. "Is this a brothel? "What sort of indiscipline is this? "How can you dress like this to work?" To cut a long story short, I was sent back home with a threat of being given a query on Monday. Of a truth, it was one of the worst moments of my life. I have being so demoralized that i couldn't blog any further yesterday, infact, i think i'm falling sick. My promotion is this year and if i get a query, i wont get the promotion, worst of all, i could lose the job with the way Madam was visibly shaking with anger, but God forbid. So make una help me pray o, I really need it. Secondly i'm looking for partners in crime who will fall in trouble with me (LOL) so today's Ankara styles are mostly crops. Eyes-Piration- Expert Tips on How to Avoid Mascara Mishaps

No need to let a little runny eye makeup ruin your day! Whether you’re struggling with smudging or combating a case of spider lashes, there is a solution in sight. We turned to two seasoned makeup artists to get the dirt on how to deal with common mascara mishaps, so your peepers can be picture perfect.

Smudged Mascara
The bad news first: If you have long, luscious lashes (a great problem to have, BTW!), there’s no real way to avoid smudging. You can remove those pesky black blotches from your eyelids and beneath the eyes pretty easily, though. Celebrity makeup artist Marina Gravini recommends waiting for the smudges to dry completely. “Then take a dry mascara wand and brush it lightly and it won’t ruin your shadow,” she says. As for those.bottom smudges, Gravini advises doing your eyes first, so any mishaps can quickly be cleaned up with a cotton swab. “Once your makeup is on, make sure to powder adequately underneath the eyes or use a waterproof under eye concealer to prevent smudging.”

Mascara Clumps
We all get mascara clumps from time to time, but turns out, there’s a much better way to handle the situation than using your fingers to literally pluck them out (guilty as charged!). Instead, if your lashes start to get clumpy, makeup artist Jonny Polizzi suggests wiping your mascara wand off with a paper towel and combing out any unwanted goop with your newly clean wand. Remember to get rid of any excess mascara on the wand prior to applying and to apply your mascara properly (use only two coats and start at the base of your lashes and wiggle upward) to avoid the problem in the first place.

Spidery Eyelashes
Can’t remember the last time you purchased a brand new tube of mascara? Well, that could be the culprit right there. “Usually, when you get spidery eyelashes, it’s because you have an old mascara or you’re putting on too many coats,” points out Gravini. Two coats is her max. For fuller lashes, you’ll definitely want to try a different formula. “If you’ve already attained the dreaded spider lash, put a drop of water on your mascara wand and put it back into your mascara,” she instructs. “The formula should now be thin enough for you to pick through your lashes and fix it.”

Mascara Dots
Steer clear of irritating mascara marks and dots above and below your eyes by using a lash guard. “It’s a small piece of plastic that forms to almost every eye shape, creating a barrier between the product and the skin,” describes Polizzi. Another tried-and-true method he swears by is taking a blending eyeshadow brush and dusting a little black eyeshadow on your lashes right after you put on your mascara. “This helps to absorb some of the moisture from the fresh coat of mascara,” he explains.

Eyes-Piration: Easy Pink Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Make -up is easy... Just get a hold of your Make-Up tools, stand in front of a mirror, follow the tutorial step by step, practise everyday and you're on your way to becoming a Pro! Like I always say, "You dont need a make-up artist!

So for the benefit of those who will have difficulty reading the tutorial, don't worry, i copied it out so you can get this hot pink smokey eye make-up with no stress.

Step 1. First, apply eye shadow base or liquid foundation all over your eyelids.
Step 2. Now take a soft black kajal pencil (black eye pencil) and apply it in like that.
Step 3. Blend the edges with a brush
Step 4. Now apply pink eye-shadow all above the black
Step 5. Line your eyes with liquid eyeliner and also line the waterline with a kajal pencil.
Step 6. If you want, apply some white/light pink under your eyebrows
Step 7. Now line your lower eyelids with the black kajal pencil and take abit of pink eye shadow on the inner corner of your eyes
Step 8. Apply your mascara- and you're done!

The Right Way to Wear Ripped Jeans

Due to the nature of African ethics and values, the distressed jeans is looked upon as something near a taboo in this part of the world. Infact to rock a badly distressed jeans that shows off about 70% of your thighs, you will have to wear the whole amour of confidence and also make sure your African mama no see you else you go chop either mouth flogging or the real koboko flogging, Lol.  But if you truly love the destroyed jeans look but aren't sure if you could pull it off, I suggest you start with something simple, with just a few rips and tears nothing drastic that will expose to much skin. Always remember to balance out the look, especially if the jeans have multiple or large rips you should keep the rest of your outfit wwxsimple to avoid over- clustering. For example, you can pair with plain top, sweaters or blazers,  just make sure the top is simple.

To give your distressed jeans a more dressy and trendy look throw in bangle bracelet, high heels, necklace or a fedora hat. Make sure that they're simple in color and design and that they don't look too shabby with the rest of the outfit.

High heel shoes can look good with ripped jeans but it depends on the style of the shoes. Stilettos, flashy pumps and boots with a pointy toe outdate the pants and make you look tacky. Instead go for trendy shoes with wider heels and/or platform. Open toe shoes softens the jeans - making it look more feminine and girly.

Beauty Tip- Natural Ways to Make Your Lips Pink and Soft

I get it, most ladies need their lipstick but truth is, you can't go everywhere with it.  So what if you can achieve natural pink lips that still make you look beautiful when your lipstick fades, huh? Here are some tips on how to turn your lips pink, soft, gentle (and kissable for him).

7. Mix lime juice and glycerin and apply it on your lips. This homemade remedy will help you lighten your dark lips.
