Miss Black Africa UK Launches Nigerian Disability Charity

According to the Voice, MISS BLACK Africa UK beauty queen has set up a new charity to help disabled people in Nigeria.

I Am Able Nigeria, set up by the pageant's 2014
winner Jacqueline Ilumoka, aims to raise funds to purchase wheelchairs, crutches, ramps and other mobility aids.

Ilumoka told The Voice: "As winner of Miss Black.Africa UK, part of my mandate is to implement a charity project of my choice so I chose to focus on.people with disabilities in Africa.

"Last year leading up to the [pageant] finals, I was working with a charity in the UK that supported people with disabilities and it really just spurred me on to focus my own charity work on a similar area."

According to Ilumoka's charity, many Nigerians with disabilities are living below the poverty line unable to afford the necessary mobility equipment to move around. Many resort to begging on the streets as they are denied access to employment and educational opportunities.

Facilities are "not physical disability friendly. Public buildings, transport systems and academic institutions are hostile to people with disabilities and moving around can be extremely difficult for these groups".

Ilumoka's campaign aims to raise funds for mobility aids for The School of the Handicapped in Ogun State, Nigeria, to encourage independence for these individuals.

The beauty queen said: "I Am Able Nigeria
addresses the problem of stigmatisation. Our aim is to change public opinion towards this group and stop the exclusion of the physically handicapped through an awareness campaign."

On why charity work is so important to her, Ilumoka told The Voice: "I'm a woman of faith and I believe God always gives us gifts not so we can just keep them to ourselves but so we can bless others.

"I believe in supporting the less privileged because you never know when you will be in a situation when you need help. Its only by grace that I live in this country with a roof over my head, food to eat, abled bodied, many didn't choose to be in the position that they are in but it can happen to anyone."

She continued: "So why not be a blessing to others so you can also be blessed too? It's all about making your life count and trying to make a difference. People say 'you can't help everyone everywher'" but you can still help someone somewhere."

As well as setting up a crowd-funding donation
page, Ilumoka will also be hosting a charity
fundraiser gala in the next few weeks, which include a fashion show, auction, three-course meal and entertainment.

Kendall Jenner’s Model Confession: People Outright Laughed at Me Behind My Back

Jenner strikes a pose in V magazine’s summer
issue. Inside the magazine, the 19-year-old
talks about her modeling career, and how
having a famous last name didn’t help her
book jobs.

“You have no idea how many doors closed on
me and how many adults were either initially
reluctant to take a chance working with me or
who outright laughed at me behind my back,”
Jenner told the magazine. “It was kind of
hard because all I was doing was going on go-
sees, trying my best to break into this
business as a teenager. I am so grateful to
Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci , Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand , who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity. My parents taught me that work ethic is one of
the most important keys in life, and I believe
it.”

Now, Jenner is taking the modeling world by
storm. She was just named the face of Calvin
Klein‘s #MyCalvins denim series .

Powerful new Dove ad asks blind women to explain what beauty means to them

Dove has enlisted visually impaired women
to explain what beauty means to them for its
latest ad campaign.

The Swedish commercial sees three women,
all of whom are visually impaired, discussing
their worries and insecurities about their
appearance, the loss of their sight and what
makes them feel beautiful.

"I feel beautiful on the day when I feel like
life is fun," explains Anna Bergholtz, who has
been blind for 13 years. "Beauty is more of a
feeling to me."

"When it feels as if I'm in the right place,
doing the right things; meaningful things, I
automatically feel beautiful," adds Ida
Ostlund, who has been visually impaired
since birth and can only see light and
darkness.

"It comes from within. If your radiate
warmth, humility and love, then you're
beautiful to me," explains Naomi Allback,
who lost her sight 15 years ago.

The advert is captioned by the brand: "How
do you know that you are beautiful if you
can't see your reflection in the mirror?"
Dove, which is known for its campaigns that
promote beauty of natural women, used a
similar message back in 2013 for a hair dye
commercial which featured a blind woman
explaining the importance of colour.

Beauty Tips: Keeping Your Glow With Less Makeup

Keep your glow this heat season by following these make up tips from professional makeup artist and beauty blogger, Nikki Duque:

Tip 1
Don't just moisturize, protect your skin as well.
Instead of your usual foundation and concealer, switch to tinted moisturizer with SPF. A tinted moisturizer gives a hint of color and evens out your skin tone. Plus it leaves your skin feeling lighter.

Tip 2
Highlight your beautiful assets! Use a bronzer with pink or coral undertones on your cheeks. Add a little bit on your forehead and chin - these are the areas where the sun basically hits your face. So make the most of the light!

Tip 3
Don't be afraid to get an extra glow. A little bit of highlighter on your cheekbones, brow bones will also give you that summer radiance you want to achieve. Just avoid putting too much to avoid looking greasy. A little goes a long way.

Tip 4
Sweat may run off your face and your mascara too! Use a waterproof mascara to avoid raccoon eyes.

Tip 5
Use a cream blush. This will help you get that natural and fresh look especially in this kind of humid weather.

Tip 6
Lastly, for the sexiest curve of your body. Opt for tinted lip balms with spf rather than lipsticks or lip glosses for total lip protection this summer.

GET SALTED: THE LATEST SKINCARE TREATMENT TO TRY

While nutritionists pepper us with dire
warnings about the health risks of eating
too much salt, salt aficionados of an entirely
different breed are touting the little crystals
as a cure for asthma and allergies, a boost
to the immune system, and a way to
increase athletic endurance and even to add
a glow to your complexion. The secret? Skip
the shaker in favor of inhaling the white
stuff.

At New York's La Casa Day Spa , the hot sauna
is lined with blocks of Himalayan salt that
"strengthen the barrier function of the skin,
and the heat helps the negative ions
penetrate into your lungs," says owner Jane
G, Goldberg. She also recommends an hour
in the flotation tub filled with 800 pounds of
Epsom salts. "They're a phenomenal healing
agent," says Goldberg. "One house in there
is like five hours of sleep" ($80 for 60
minutes). Engelman agrees; "Epsom baths
help eliminate toxins by pulling them out of
the skin and also help relax muscles and
relieve pain."

Beauty Tip- 5 Makeup Mistakes That Make You Look Like You Got Zero Sleep Last Night

"Woah, you look really tired!" is never fun
to hear. But if know you're caught up on
your beauty rest, it's your makeup routine
that may be keeping you from looking your
best. But don't fret, these easy fixes are sure
to revive your glow.

Mistake #1: You don't start with a
moisturizer.
Having dry skin won't do you any favors in
the looking awake department.

The fix: Pick a moisturizer with added SPF.
It not only adds much-needed hydration
back into your skin, but it also protects you
from sun damage, which—surprise!—also
ages you.

Mistake #2: You apply foundation all
wrong.
Wearing way too much, wearing none at all,
or wearing a color that doesn't match your
skintone are all big no-no's. Why? Skipping
it completely while still adding other
makeup (like mascara) can make your skin
look washed out. And caked-up foundation
(even in powder form) can crack and make
wrinkles and imperfections appear so much
worse.

The fix: Find a color that works for you and
apply it evenly. If you're struggling to find
your match, add a swipe along your jawline
or hand—either will help you find a shade
that blends into your skin.

Mistake #3: You forget about blush.
Lack of color equals dull and lifeless skin.

The fix: If you're going to wear any makeup
at all, stick with a moisturizer, light
coverage foundation, a bit of mascara, and
a swipe of blush. Start on the apples of your
cheeks, and apply toward your hairline.
You'll look awake and refreshed in no time.

Mistake #4: You overdo the eyeliner.
If you wear too much, you eyes can appear
smaller and more tired. Plus, deep black
liners can exaggerate bloodshot eyes if you
are actually lacking sleep.

The fix: Consider lining your lower lid with
a lighter-colored pencil (pick one that is a
shade darker than your skintone) to open
up your eyes. Even a swipe of white can
make you look more refreshed.

Mistake #5: You don't freshen up
throughout the day.
Smudged eyeliner or uneven lipstick? An
unkempt face screams that you need some
zzz's.

The fix: Take a quick bathroom break (30
seconds is all you need) to remove any black
smudges underneath your eyes, dab a bit of
concealer on any trouble spots, and brush
out your brows. It's the perfect beauty pick-
me-up.-Via Marie Claire

Beauty Tip- Products to Even the Tone of Black Skin

Whether you're looking to give an overall even look to your complexion or target specific discolored areas, there are a number of different products that will leave your face uniform and glowing.

1. Ambi Fade Cream comes in two formulas
- one for normal and one for oily skin types
- and helps fade dark marks and
discoloration with a two percent
concentration of hydroquinone. The
hydroquinone is combined with vitamin E to
moisturize and soften and a blend of alpha
hydroxy acids to slough off dead skin cells
and enhance results. Results can be seen in
as little as two weeks, and once your
desired skin tone is achieved you can stop
using the product.

2. Even True Tonecorrect Fade Creme helps
banish hyperpigmentation and discoloration
by using a two percent concentration of
hydroquinone, while natural peptides and
citrus extracts and other natural ingredients
soothe the skin and help prevent excessive
dryness and irritation.

3. Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Milk  helps fade dark spots on the face and body, while moisturizers soften and smooth skin to prevent dryness and ashiness. The formula uses alpha hydroxy acids to slough off dead, uneven skin cells, and vitamins C and E to further brighten and protect. Eventone Fade Milk should be applied to discolored areas twice a day for optimal results.-credit

The Latest Fashion, Trending on Google

Normcore ? So last year. String bikinis? Most
definitely over.

Even interest in skinny jeans may be
waning, if six billion fashion-related
queries by Google users are any indication
of this year’s most popular trends.

Instead, consumers are Googling tulle skirts,
midi skirts, palazzo pants and jogger pants,
according to the company, which plans to
start issuing fashion trend reports based on
user searches twice a year. The new trend
aggregations are part of the company’s bid
to become a bigger player in e-commerce
and fashion beyond its product search
engine or advertising platform.

Google’s foray into the fashion world is part
of a scramble to define, inform and tap into
how people search online for everything
they can buy, be it clothes or jewelry,
groceries or furniture.

Bruce Jenner Shows Diane Sawyer New Closet Full Of Dresses

Wow! Looking great! During the highly anticipated one-on-one with Diane
Sawyer, Bruce Jenner showed off a brand-
new style and a brand-new wardrobe, which
now includes, yes, dresses. Bruce Jenner , 65, opened up fully to Diane Sawyer and viewers watching their in-depth interview for 20/20
about how much Jenner’s life has changed in the last year.

Along with changing his appearance, he
confessed that he’s been dressing as a woman
privately for quite some time — and even invites viewers into his closet.

While Bruce would not share ‘her’ — as Bruce refers to his female soul — dressed as a woman just yet, duringhis 20/20 interview on April 24th, he invited Diane to back to his closet, where he reveal a beautiful, slinky
black dress that he plans to wear at a private dinner the two will enjoy together. But while he’s not quite ready to be seen as ‘her’ quite yet, he’s excited to start living his life , even in small ways. “Oh, to be able to have nail polish on long enough to chip off,” he confessed would be a simple dream come true.

Earlier in the interview, she confessed that she used to.wear her mother’s dresses in secret, pulling them out and putting them back quickly before anyone guessed what she was doing. “I didn’t know why I was doing it,” she confessed, “besides it just made me feel good.”-Hollywoodlife

11 Surprising Ways Coconut Oil Makes You Prettier

[Via Marie Claire ]

These days, it seems like virtually every
celebrity is using coconut oil in one form or
another. Angelina Jolie starts her day with a
teaspoon of it. Miranda Kerr puts it in her
green tea. Mindy Kaling slathers it into her
hair. Shailene Woodley oil pulls with it
(we'll explain later). The list goes on...
And since it seems stars just excel in the
beauty department by default, we decided
to get to the bottom of every way we can
use the wallet-friendly, all-natural oil to
make ourselves easier on the eyes.

Your Hair
Conditioner: Whether applied at room
temperature or heated up, letting your hair
soak in coconut oil for a few hours will deep
condition your hair, i.e. make it look and
feel way healthier, as it's rich with vitamin
E, vitamin K, and iron.

Anti-Frizz Potion: By lightly finger-combing
it through your hair from the ears down, it
can help tame frizz without making it look
greasy—just keep it away from your roots.
Shine Creator: While hair serums can be
packed with silicone, unrefined coconut oil
will give your hair a natural sheen.

Cleaning Machine: As gross as it is to think
about, the fact is our scalp and hair have a
higher bacterial content than we'd like to
acknowledge. Fortunately, coconut oil
contains anti-fungal/antibacterial
properties that make it serve as a protective
barrier.

Your Skin
Moisturizer: When applied on the face or
body, coconut oil works as an all-natural
moisturizer that replenishes the skin's
natural oils.

Soothing Balm: Whether applied topically or
ingested in precise amounts, it helps to
minimize outbreaks and irritation.

Anti-Aging Wonder: Filled with
antioxidants that ward off free radicals, it'll
help slow the aging process while keeping
your skin hydrated—making you soft,
supple, and glowing.

Highlighter: Once you've applied your
makeup, use it as a cheek highlighter as it
will enhance your skin's natural pigments
and reflect light.

Your Smile
Whitener: Oil pulling, which is swishing
coconut oil around in your mouth for
several minutes, has been found to whiten
teeth (Kylie Jenner is a believer ).

Decay Fighter: When it comes to
appearance, it's not just about the color of
your teeth, but also their density over time.
Because it's antibacterial, it helps ward off
the plaque buildup that causes tooth decay
in the first place.

Lip Moisturizer: Chapped lips are not a
good look. Whether oil pulling or using it as
a lip balm, coconut oil nourishes for a soft
pout free of cracks and flakes.

Kim Kardashian Snags a Cover of Variety’s Power of Women Issue

We know her best as a reality star-cum-fashion icon, but Kim Kardashian does sometimes use her enormous visibility and popularity for a good cause. She’s not all selfies and expert contouring , folks.

Kardashian has been included in Variety ‘s Power of Women NY issue with a solo cover in honor of her work with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Kardashian has been working with the hospital for the past seven years and has donated money and visited on several occasions, sometimes bringing along her husband Kanye or her sisters. Her charitable attitude has only grown stronger, she says , since the birth of her
daughter North.

“You realize how hard it must be to be a parent to a child with an illness. Your whole perspective changes.”

Why Your Shapewear Could Be Really Bad For Your Health- Experts

Shapewear might seem like a
necessity when it comes to slipping into
slinky dresses that show everything and
forgive nothing, but experts are saying
compression clothes might actually be
pretty bad for your health. Not that we
shouldn’t have seen this one coming– a
smaller waist in three seconds was bound
to come with a catch.

Although women like Katy Perry , Kim
Kardashian, and Heidi Klum basically
worship at the altar of Spanx during red
carpet season, health experts warn you
might want to abstain from the stretchy
stuff. In fact, doctors are seeing women
who use shapewear come in with
temporary nerve damage and a condition
called meralgia paresthetica which causes
painful burning and tingling in the thighs.
Ask your grandmother about it–she might
remember this painful side-effect from an
era when women were expected to wear
restrictive girdles.

If that wasn’t enough to scare you off
shapewear for life, the pressure these
pieces put on the abdomen literally
squeezes your internal organs. This can
lead to some nasty tummy problems, Jay
Kuemmerle, a gastroenterologist at Virginia
Commonwealth University in Richmond
told the L.A. Times : “For someone who has
reflux disease or is prone to reflux,
wearing tight garments may exacerbate
those symptoms.” He also says it
can worsen the discomforts of irritable
bowel syndrome and urinary
incontinence, and warned women away
from trying Jessica Alba’s “ corset diet ” for
weight loss.

Right now doctors don’t completely agree
about whether shapewear is dangerous;
some medical professionals think Spanx
should come with a health warning, while
others just suggest you simply
shouldn’t wear it too often–or too tight.

The bottom line here is that you might
want to reconsider regularly pulling on
rigid shapewear to smooth out your lumps
and bumps–because the illusion of
smoother stomach probably isn’t worth
squished organs, nerve damage, and
symptoms women haven’t experienced
since the days of girdles and corsets.

Love me my shapewear anytime anyday, even though I wear them like once in a blue moon...Lol. What's your take on shapewears?

Christian Louboutin Launches Leg- Lengthening Nude Pumps For EVERY Skin Tone

Good news fashionistas...

There are few things more versatile than a
nude pump—they elongate your legs, blend
into just about any outfit, and add an
unparalleled level of ease to your
wardrobe. The trick to looking taller in
nude pumps, however, is that they’re
meant to match your skin tone, but—
newsflash, shoe designers—not all women
have uniform skin color.

Luckily, Christian Louboutin came to the
rescue in 2013 with a capsule collection
that included five varying nude colorways .
Now, the designer revealed several new
shades, as well—although he admits he has
a bit of work to do when in comes to really
representing a range of women, according
to The Cut.

“There are two colors that I’m missing the
range of in the middle,” he says . “In the
next year, we will be at seven total skin
tones.”

The New Nudes Collection is available at
Bergdorf Goodman now and includes
signature Louboutin styles in a range of
five new shades from “fair blush” to “rich
chestnut.”- StyleCaster

Weirdest piercing ever? Naked women flaunt their laced-up boobs, bums and backs

FORGET tattoos, boob jobs and designer vaginas, the latest ultimate body modification is corset piercing.

Metal rings are inserted into the desired area and coloured ribbons are weaved through to create a corset affect.

And although the barmy body decoration looks a little painful the intricate designs are beautiful. The quirky trend, which can cost up to £500, can be applied to any area of the body where the skin is loose enough to pinch.

Popular areas include the back, boobs and legs – but some even opt for throat-threading. Huh?

They look beautiful though but ouch!.. painful too. Would you try this?

6 THINGS EVERY BRIDE SHOULD KEEP IN MIND BEFORE BUYING A WEDDING GOWN

Found this on BAZAAR and I couldn't agree more!

T&C spoke to Marchesa designers Keren Craig
and Georgina Chapman about their most
important wedding tips during their Spring
2016 Bridal Collection Presentation at the St.
Regis in New York City. Here is the best
advice they had for brides-to-be:

1) Bring your phone.
"When you are going to try on dresses,
bring an iPhone. One client had videos
taken of her in every dress to see how it fit
and what it looked like when she was
walking around or sitting down. You should
get an image of the dress from every
angle."- Georgina

2) Go classic.
"Go for a timeless and classic design. We
don't follow trends because you will be
looking at photos of the dress for the next 40
or 50 years. You want to wear something
that will look good in the future."- Keren

3) Be open-minded.
"Try on a style you didn't think you wanted-
one bride wanted to wear something simple
but she tried on a princess dress and
realized she loved it."- Georgina

4) When it comes to the veil...
"You should also try on a veil. I didn't wear
one when I got married and now I regret
it."- Keren

5) Your footwear.
"Buy two pairs of shoes. One for the
ceremony and one for after when you want
to have fun." - Georgina

6) At the end of the day, ENJOY IT!
"Remember to enjoy your wedding. So many
people have told me that the entire event
went by in a blur and they don't remember
much. Try to take a step back and enjoy the
day."- Keren

This Kim Kardashian's "Casual" Outfit Costs Over #400k!

It sure ain't cheap looking casual!

According to Us Weekly, Kim Kardashian , who jetted from L.A. to NYC on Monday, April 20, enjoys a nice, cozy outfit to fly in. What's (most likely) a little different: Her hoodie costs almost a grand!

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 34, modeled a Vetements bell-sleeved hoodie ($870, Ssense.com ), J Brand "Photo Ready Distressed Cropped Skinny" jeans
($227, Shopbop.com ), and vintage Tom Ford peep-toe booties. For just the clothing alone, the ensemble already rings in at $1,097.

But a girl can't leave home without some glam
accessories, too! Kardashian shaded her peepers in Saint Laurent sunglasses ($395,
Solsticesunglasses.com ) and toted a crocodile Givenchy bag ($1,150, Select Givenchy stores). Grand total for whole getup: a cool $2,642.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Bruce Jenner seen wearing striped dress outside Malibu home

Who’s that lady?
Bruce Jenner, the thrice-married father of six who’s set to reveal he’s transitioning to a woman, was spotted wearing a floor-length striped dress Tuesday outside his Malibu home.

Jenner, 65, was photographed sporting the long-sleeved black-and-white dress, with a slit from the knee to the hem, while stretching and smoking a cigarette on the mansion’s patio.

The photos emerged less than three days before Jenner’s highly-anticipated interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC where it is believed he will discuss his future as a woman.
